virgil-jones-biography.jpgGrowing up surrounded by the arts, Virgil originally studied dance and ice skating until his mid teens. He found he was fascinated with the visual arts when he discovered glass as an artistic medium in 2014. Virgil first began glass fusing at Soverow Glass in Birmingham, Alabama. Since moving back to Tucson in the fall of 2014, Virgil began studying glassblowing at Sonoran Glass School. Over the years, Virgil has taught and assisted in a variety of classes focused in glassblowing, torch working, and kiln fusing. At the start of 2018, Virgil moved his focus from glassblowing back to fusing and is now the studio manager for the fusing studio at Sonoran Glass School.
